Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday inaugurated Chaupal–2026 under the "Chief Minister's Udyamshala Yojana" at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan located at the Chief Minister's Camp Office. On the occasion, he said that more than 13,000 entrepreneurs across the state have so far been supported through the Chief Minister’s Udyamshala Yojana. In addition, more than 8,000 women entrepreneurs and members of Self-Help Groups have been connected with entrepreneurship and livelihood opportunities. During the inaugural session, the Chief Minister announced that a state-level marketing centre would be established at 13 Gaon in IT Park, Dehradun, to facilitate the marketing of products made by Self-Help Groups from all districts of Uttarakhand.

Indian National Congress has refused to sing the full version of the 'Vande Mataram' song, which energised millions of freedom fighters during British rule. Union Home Minister Amit Shah described this decision as “anti-national”. He said the Congress Working Committee has taken  “a surprising and anti-national decision”. Shah said, “Congress party adopted a resolution in 1937 when the party decided to sing only two stanzas of  Vande Mataram. I want to remind the entire country that in 1937, for Muslim appeasement, the Congress party laid the foundation for the partition of the country by dividing Vande Mataram into two. From there, the two-nation theory gained strength and eventually, the country was partitioned and Pakistan was born."

Delhi Police on Friday registered an FIR in connection with the pellet gun injury case under Sections 118 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Section 118 of the BNS deals with voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means, while Section 125 deals with acts endangering the life or personal safety of others. The FIR was registered on pellet gun complaint as Rahul Gandhi continued dharna outside the Parliament Street police station in the national capital. Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, are staging a sit-in protest at the Parliament Street police station along with the victim. Notably, the FIR was registered against unidentified people.
